Benji is the key player of the Wests Tigers attack and one of the biggest superstars in the NRL. The brilliant five-eighth is also the New Zealand Test Captain, having represented the Kiwis in 26 tests. Q: What happens at a typical training day at the club

A: Training is between 7am and 9am, during this time we also fit in a visit to the physio if needed. At 9am we are on the field for Skills or Fitness sessions. We break from around 11.30am till 2pm, where we have lunch and have some down time; we sometimes fit in a massage too! At 2pm we are into a gym session for an hour or an hour and a half, and then we have a recovery session in hot and cold baths to make sure we pull up OK for the next day’s training.

Q: The Wests Tigers have just signed Braith Anasta for 2013. Will this change your game?

A: No, I don’t think it will change how I play. Braith will bring a calm head and experience to our team. He is such a great bloke and really trains hard which rubs off on the young guys.

Q: How do you prepare for a big game?

A: Preparation is everything, I like to be relaxed, listen to music and have a bit of a ‘muck around’.

Q: As Brand Ambassador for Balance, what are the top three products you use?

A: As a team we use a whole range of Balance Sports Nutrition products to help us get the most out of our training and keep on top of our health. The main products we use are the WPI Protein, Massive 70:30 and Amino-Pro to help with muscle recovery.

As professional athletes we need to put in 100 per cent so we get the most out of our training and we are properly prepared for the game. The supplements that Balance Sports Nutrition provide are crucial for us to ensure we train at our best every day.

Q: Do you have any tips for aspiring young players?

A: Practice makes perfect. Sport should be enjoyed, so make sure you’re having fun too!

Q: What are the top 3 things you want to do before you die?
A: Act in a big Hollywood movie like Twilight; Play the piano like Elton john; Be Prime Minister of New Zealand!

Q: What will you do when you hang up your boots?

A: Play golf every day and be a stay at home Dad!
